We are seeking a qualified and motivated Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at Northern Data. In this role, you will be responsible for managing month-end and year-end processes, statutory reporting, and maintaining accurate General Ledger records across our EU entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a background in audit or accounting, and experience in multi-territory, multi-currency environments. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Ensure bank and cash accounts are regularly reconciled
- Prepare and post monthly expense accruals, prepayments, deferred revenues, and expenses
- Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support (i.e., Treasury, FP&A)
- Responsible for the month-end, quarterly and year-end closing processes at the local level
- Preparation of group reporting deliverables on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
- Assist with preparation of financial statements when required at a local level with the support of the Finance Manager
- Support on group and local statutory audits
- Supporting the external advisors in the preparation of the governmental required filings such as VAT returns, EU Sales Listings, and any other census or statistical reporting as required by the country
- Assist in the creation of controls documentation to evidence the timely operation of financial controls
- Assist the Finance Manager on special ad-hoc projects, as required
YOUR REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA(SA))
- Ideally 4-5 years working experience (1-2 PQE), ideally with experience working with multi territory business/multi-currency accounting
- Audit trained/background preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
- SAP/S4 Hana experience preferred; additional company-specific training will be available
- Strong excel skills (SUMIFs/Pivots/VLOOKUPS), with working knowledge of Microsoft products
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, and managing multiple priorities
- Solid understanding of Local GAAP and IFRS. Experience with statutory accounts preparation and audit processes is preferred
- Problem-solver, who can think outside of the box
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Must be a team player/collaborative individual with a can-do attitude
