Workday Finance Product Specialist

Intro

We have an exciting opportunity for a Workday Finance Product Specialist to join our Corporate Products team, on a permanent basis. The role will be home based, with occasional travel required to London and Darlington, for face to face time with stakeholders, as and when required

Who we are

Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds.

Our heritage of looking after the pension needs of the rail industry and its employees gives us our name and our unique outlook on how we serve our members. Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.

The role

Within this role you will be a technical in-house expert for Workday, providing governance to change and excellent customer service in delivery and support. This role will play a key role in the design, testing, implementation, embedding and the future development of Workday Finance.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Products (Centre of Expertise), you will be the IT business contact for Workday enhancements, changes, bi-annual releases and development requests from around the business, managed on a JIRA backlog, working in an Agile methodology.

The person

Experience using Workday, specifically Finance modules (including Core Accounting, Expenses, Procurement, Suppliers, Customers, Customer Billing, Projects, Project Biling, Business Assets, Tax, Prism, Accounting Centre and Adaptive Insights) is imperative. Involvement in an implementation would also be desirable.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work closely with the Finance team looking to maintain and develop the technical side of Workday (collaborating on existing business processes,  developing future requirements in order to standardise product design, integrate and automate where possible and drive the development of the product roadmap). Therefore experience working with or within a Finance function would be a distinct advantage.

As the Workday Finance Product Specialist, you will be comfortable building collaborative and trusted relationships with a variety of key stakeholders across all areas of the business. Organisation skills and the ability to demonstrate effective time management to ensure delivery to agreed timescales is key. We are looking for an individual who can take ownership of tasks, who’s keen to role model a positive can-do attitude and high standards in delivery. Excellent influencing, negotiating and communication skills are essential for you to support and challenge current processes with the ambition of securing best practice.

Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
