Purpose of Position

The Finance Operations Data Analyst supports the delivery and optimization of financial data processes used by accounting teams. The role focuses on analysing operational financial data, building data transformations and developing reporting that improves accounting efficiency and financial process visibility.


Key Tasks 

Financial Data Preparation

  • Source and prepare financial data required for accounting processes
  • Build and maintain SQL queries and data transformations supporting financial bookings
  • Validate and reconcile data delivered to accounting teams Accounting

Process Support

  • Work closely with accountants to understand their data needs and process challenges
  • Support the delivery of datasets required for financial postings and reconciliations
  • Assist in improving data availability and structure for accounting processes

Operational Financial Reporting

  • Develop reporting that supports financial operations, including: Credit control reporting, Accounts receivable and collections tracking, Working capital monitoring, Operational revenue reporting, Transaction-level financial insights

Data Quality & Controls

  • Monitor data quality in financial datasets
  • Identify discrepancies between operational systems and finance data
  • Support the development of controls around financial data pipelines

Collaboration

  • Work with Data Engineering to implement scalable data pipelines
  • Support Finance Systems teams in aligning data structures with accounting requirements

Key Skills

  • 2+ years experience in Finance, Data Analytics, or Finance Systems
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes (close cycle, revenue recognition, reconciliations, working capital)
  • Ability to translate accounting requirements into data specifications
  • Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities
  • Experience working with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Detail oriented with high data accuracy standards
  • Ability to work across technical and finance stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance, Business or Analytics related field
  • Fluent English
