The role reports into the London based Director for the CMS Deals Team, with the Global CMS Deals Team dual reporting into the Head of Global Deals and the Global CMS CFO.

The scope and mandate for the Global CMS Deals team is:

  • To engage in all Global deals across Visa’s CMS business unit with an emphasis on Money Movement
  • The Global CMS Deals Team is the primary partner to sales teams in all aspects of deal development, deal approval, and deal lifecycle management, including thoughtful analysis and insightful deal review materials, accurate decision records and deal benchmarking
  • To establish a ‘centre of excellence’ across three dimensions:
  • Deal evaluation criteria and review documentation
  • Calibrating and refining deal pricing, structure, and strategy
  • Supportive internal governance and expedient approval pathways
  • Support regional deal teams by sharing best practices and driving consistency in financial modelling, deal structure and deal strategy
  • Partner with account teams across all aspects of a prospective deal in an expedited and effective manner

As member of the Global CMS Deals Team, the Manager will:

  • Coordinate with sales across Europe and Global teams, liaising with various departments including product, legal, risk, accounting, tax, and treasury to structure and propose deals. Tasks include brainstorming, financial modelling, obtaining approvals, negotiating and finalising contracts.
  • Conduct deal modelling and manage the deal P&L, optimizing outcomes for both Visa and the client through detailed financial analysis and interpretation of results across various scenarios, and communicate financial risks to senior management decision-makers.
  • Perform data analysis, modelling, and forecasting to determine the incentives Visa offers to new or expanding customers
  • Prepare and present deal documents for executive stakeholders, emphasizing financial perspectives in pricing and incentive reviews
  • Develop best practices for commercial structures and legal terms, assisting sales teams with client proposals
  • Enhance and streamline infrastructure and processes for managing and documenting the CMS deal approval process
  • Collaborate with finance, pricing, strategy, and legal teams to identify opportunities to improve deal outcomes and sales velocity
  • Promote best practices for deal structuring and provide insights into pricing and incentives. Advise on financial structures that attract customers while protecting Visa's financial and legal interests and achieving growth goals
  • Offer commercial insights on deals, challenging assumptions to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the client's portfolio and Visa's offer requirements
  • Manage and report on deal modelling and governance processes, while contributing to the development of efficient, effective, and streamlined infrastructure and processes for managing and documenting the CMS deal approval process opportunities

Key Outcomes and Measures of Success:

  • Positive feedback from internal partners, reflecting successful collaboration
  • Mastery of technical skills in deal modelling, financial analysis, and presentation materials
  • Demonstrated growth in strategic thinking, with a deep understanding of the company's business model and a comprehensive knowledge of the industry
  • Clear and persuasive presentation of documents that effectively communicate the merits and risks of deals to all levels of management
  • The ability to provide expert deal advisory support to the client-facing sales team on complex, multi-product deals, demonstrating a deep understanding of deal structures and strategies
  • Strong contribution to end-to-end deal process across deal pricing, reviews, approvals, and contracting and remove barriers to accelerate sales velocity and improve win rate
  • Support and enhance the Deal Centre of Excellence by developing superior deal constructs, pricing and negotiation strategies, and other assets for future deals
