The European FP&A team combines data analytics & business reporting with financial planning and profitability. We take an end-to-end view of the business operations and finances. Job Description

As the company continues to grow at a rapid rate, there is an opportunity for an ambitious and hands-on Manager to assist in the development of the FP&A team to be a best-in-class function and set up for long-term success.

This position provides ample opportunities to collaborate closely with the wider Finance, Legal and Compliance, Partnership and Operations teams. As we look to continue with SquareTrade’s exponential growth, the role offers lots of variety in a fast-paced environment where you won’t get bored!

Job Responsibilities

Decision Support:

● Partner Account Management in reviewing profitability of existing accounts and modelling potential changes to commercial terms (ad hoc and regular)

● Monitoring performance against targets at a partner account level

● Ad hoc financial modelling through sensitivity analysis and scenario planning to understand business changes / identify potential opportunities and risks

Profitability Monitoring:

● Reviewing monthly reporting prepared by Analytics and monitoring variance to Plan/Reforecast

● Identify and investigate movements between actual and budgeted performance, providing insights into underlying causes

● Supporting the Financial Control team during close periods to understand variances to Plan

● Maintain and report on product profitability by client/tier/cohort to identify improvement opportunities or risks to plan

Budgets, Forecasting & Operational Planning:

● Detailed involvement in the entire planning cycles (budget, 3-year planning, regular forecasts)

● Compiling the business forecasts used for Operational planning

Attributes & profile:

● Intellectually curios and detail-oriented: You’re passionate about asking questions, quickly ramping up, and remaining agile as you receive feedback from business owners

● Collaborative: You are comfortable working with non-finance team members to agree commercial decisions

● Meticulous: Details, details, details… you thrive when living in the weeds and are constantly sourcing for trends and aberrations

● Ambitious: You’ll go above and beyond to get results (and you’re able to motivate other to do the same!)

● You’ll get your hands dirty: You’re not afraid to jump into confusing, messy situations. You love being the go-to person for getting things don

Qualifications

● Excellent academics and a 2:1 degree or above

● ACA / CIMA qualified ● Demonstrated ability to present to key stakeholders

● Solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS

● Insurance industry knowledge an advantage

● Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills dealing as well with junior team members than with the senior leadership team.

● Excel skills required, along with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

We work in a hybrid model: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
