Role overview  

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Data Product Owner to join our team as part of the Finance Data Mesh (FDM) project and the broader strategic finance transformation, which includes the implementation of a new ERP system. This role is critical to achieving our vision of creating a unified, agile, and responsive financial data ecosystem that delivers timely insights while ensuring regulatory compliance.  

 

Job details: 

  • You will work towards 3 key outcomes, data optimisation, enhanced data governance and a unified financial data architecture. While the day to day responsibilities of the role are dynamic and will develop over time, we have sub-categorised these accountabilities into 5 headings

  • Product Ownership - this includes overseeing the development of our Finance data products and their subsequent roadmaps 

  • Data Governance - this means establishing and enforcing data governance policies to ensure data quality and consistency

  • Collaboration - you will work closely with Finance, our Chief Information Office and business teams to gather and document data requirements as well engaging with them to understand their needs, pain points etc. 

  • Implementation - you will take the lead on the integration of Data Products with the new ERP system, ensuring seamless data flow

  • Training & Change Management - this means developing and delivering training programmes for Finance and business users on new data products and processes

 

Essential skills we would love you to have:   

  • Proven experience as a Data Product Owner or similar role in a finance or data-related product

  • A huge plus would be if you have experience in modern data architecture, preferably finance data mesh concept, metadata management, etc

  • As a large part of this role includes the implementation of our new ERP systems so if you have experience in this space, it would be a big advantage

  • From a technical perspective, we are looking for someone who is proficient in data modelling, integration and management tools (Python, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL etc.) 

  • From a personal perspective, we would like to bring someone in who has a real thirst for change, coupled with maturity to carry out strategic change across all levels. 

  • It is also important to us that you have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
