The role:

As a Finance Business Partner (open to different seniority levels), you’ll join our Finance Team and work closely with the FP&A team, the Accounting function, and the CFO to ensure Plum’s financial health and readiness for scale.

Typical areas of focus will include: partnering with the product team, financial analysis, business case modeling, budgeting, forecasting and month end management reporting. The role will fit someone who is hands on, analytical and curious about how to build a business sustainably. 

Your key responsibilities 🎯

  • Partner with the business (in particular product and marketing / growth) to make sure we prioritising the right initiatives;
  • Support the partnership team and wider business to evaluate the economics and pricing for potential partnerships and ultimately inform business decisions;
  • Assist with the financial modeling and budgeting process of Plum;
  • Analyze performance vs budget;
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted strategic partner;
  • Contribute to the financial modeling and budgeting process of Plum and provide input to aid in setting Plum’s financial strategy;
  • Lead the month end process, including investor and partner reporting, quarterly board reporting and analyzing key risks and opportunities;
  • Support on periodic updating of the group’s ICARAs, recovery and wind-down plans;
  • Work with the data team to improve the accuracy of our forecasting; and
  • Embrace automation across all processes in FP&A.

Who you are 👀

  • You have have good knowledge of how the P&L and balance of a financial services business works (Could be via an accounting qualification or experience in investment banking / consulting / fintech businesses) 
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in FP&A,commercial finance or professional services
  • You have a strong analytical background and working with data to drive insight)
  • You have a strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling experience and are confident in setting up models and processes from scratch
  • You have great attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • You are hands on, driven and proactive; you take ownership of your work and can collaborate as a team player
  • Experience working with an accounting software, such as Xero, is a plus
  • Experience working in fintech is a plus
  • Experience with Looker is a plus
  • Experience analyzing data and working with Data Teams is a plus
  • Experience with ICARA, recovery and wind-down plans is a plus
