We're looking for a highly motivated qualified accountant to join our fast paced and growing Finance team to take ownership of our low carbon tech inventory.
What you'll do
- Take full ownership of the accounting and financial management of inventory, including warehouse and van stock.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory balances and movements.
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain standard costing models for inventory budgets and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and relevancy to business needs.
- Monitor and analyse cost variances related to inventory, working closely with operations to improve cost controls and efficiency.
- Support the monthly financial close process by preparing journal entries and ensuring the integrity of inventory-related financial statements.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis on inventory levels, usage, and cost trends to support decision-making by senior management.
- Implement and maintain internal controls over inventory processes and systems to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Liaise with warehouse and logistics teams to improve inventory accuracy and optimise stock levels.
- Partner with auditors for inventory audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in inventory accounting processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
What you'll need
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- 3-5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) with a focus on cost accounting, inventory management, or similar roles.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in inventory accounting and cost analysis.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and proficient in Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
- Previous experience in the energy, manufacturing, or related industry is an advantage but not essential.
