We are proud to work with major events, festivals, venues, sports clubs and hospitality organisations around the world, including Live Nation, ASM Global, Oak View Group, LIV Golf, Diageo/Guinness, Levy, Sodexo, Peppermint, Freemans Event Partners, PSG, AEG Presents, Parklife Festival, London Stadium, Chelsea FC, Manchester City FC, Ibiza Rocks, Co-op Live, Adelaide Oval and many more.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for people who are excited by innovation, comfortable with pace and motivated by the opportunity to help build something genuinely category-defining.

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our growing team.

This is a varied role supporting all areas of the finance function, helping to maintain accurate financial records, assist with reporting and reconciliations, support supplier and customer finance processes, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Finance team.

The role would suit someone with previous finance or accounts experience who is ambitious, commercially aware and keen to keep developing their skills in a fast-paced, scaling business.

No two days will be the same. You will need to be organised, accurate and comfortable working with multiple priorities, while communicating clearly with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.

Objectives of this Role

The successful person will support the Finance team by:

  • Maintaining accurate, timely and well-organised financial records.
  • Supporting the purchase ledger, sales ledger, payment and reconciliation processes.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting activity.
  • Helping ensure finance processes are clear, controlled and consistently followed.
  • Supporting a fast-growing business with reliable financial administration and strong attention to detail.
Your Tasks
  • Process purchase invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approval and posting.
  • Prepare and process supplier payments.
  • Assist with sales ledger activity, including customer invoicing and credit control.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, documents and audit trails.
  • Assist with expense management and reconciliation.
  • Support payroll administration where required.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with audits, compliance requirements and finance documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and efficiencies.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who can bring:

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts or finance administration role.
  • AAT Level 3 or above, or equivalent practical finance experience.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how finance supports wider business performance.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience using accounting packages such as Xero, Sage 50 or similar.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in handling finance-related queries professionally.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach.
Preferred Skills and Experience

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience working in a high-growth or scaling business.
  • Experience supporting month-end or year-end reporting processes.
  • Experience with expenses, payroll administration or supplier payment processes.
  • Experience improving finance processes, documentation or controls.
  • An interest in technology, events, hospitality or operationally complex businesses.
About You

We are looking for someone who is motivated by the opportunity to join a fast-growing business where they can make a visible impact.

You will be someone who is:

  • Practical, proactive and comfortable taking ownership.
  • Accurate, organised and detail-focused.
  • Comfortable working at pace without sacrificing quality.
  • Clear, honest and confident in how you communicate.
  • Positive, resilient and solution-focused.
  • Able to work well with finance colleagues, suppliers, customers and internal teams.
  • Comfortable with variety and changing priorities.
  • Keen to learn, develop and take on more responsibility over time.
  • Commercially aware and interested in how finance helps the business scale.
  • Excited by being part of an ambitious company doing something genuinely different.

At Boxbar, we value people who combine high standards with a team-first attitude. We are looking for someone who wants to help build the business, not just sit within a fixed job description.

Why Join Boxbar?

This is an opportunity to join Boxbar at a genuinely exciting stage of growth.

You will be joining a business with proven technology, major customers, international opportunities and ambitious plans for the future. We are still small enough that your contribution will be visible, but established enough to be working with some of the biggest names in events, venues, sport and hospitality.

At Boxbar, you will have the chance to:

  • Work with innovative, category-defining technology.
  • Be part of a company scaling across the UK and internationally.
  • Join a team that values pace, ownership and practical problem-solving.
  • Make a real impact rather than being a small cog in a large corporate machine.
  • Develop your finance career in a varied, hands-on role.
  • Help shape how the finance function supports the next stage of Boxbar’s growth.
