Profile Summary

The Finance Assistant supports our Head of Finance with the international management of our daily accounting functions. We’re looking for a highly organised and analytical part-qualified accountant to join our dynamic ecommerce team. It will be an ideal role for someone who works with integrity, communicates clearly, and is comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders. You’ll help keep the sales and purchase ledgers running smoothly, contribute to month-end and international accounting, and assist with commercial analysis and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of UK, US, Canada & Australia sales and purchase cycle ledgers, as well as routine bank reconciliations.
  • Support month-end processes, including journal preparation, intercompany accounts, P/L, and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., accruals and prepayments).
  • Assist with international financial obligations, including VAT/Sales Tax, Year End Accounts, and Audits.
  • Assist the Head of Finance with budgeting, monthly re-forecasting, variance analysis and preparing reporting packs.
  • Support with additional ad-hoc requests and tasks as required to support the Head of Finance.
  • Provide support in overseeing and working with our accountants (who issue refunds, reconcile supplier statements, credit card reconciliations etc)
  • Review sales tax exemptions, credit account applications
  • Chase our suppliers for credits.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Part Qualified Accountant in Chartered Accounting.
  • Experience working within an Accounts Team.
  • Highly organised with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Strong excel & googlesheets proficiency.
  • Experience using XERO accounting software or similar is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of data privacy standards.
  • Able to work with integrity, with the confidence to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders across the business.
  • Ability to work with levels of autonomy

Benefits

Job Title: Finance Assistant

Working hours: Mon-Friday 9-5

Working arrangement: Hybrid. 3 Days per week in office

Salary: £32-£38k DOE, 25 days A/L + Statutory
