About the role

Are you organised, reliable, and looking to begin (or continue) a career in finance? Our small, dedicated team at DS Smith Ralegh (near Louth) is looking for a Finance Assistant to support a range of finance and administrative tasks.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a medium-sized manufacturing environment that is part of the wider DS Smith & IP business. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring our financial processes and site compliance run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the role

You’ll be part of an onsite team, responsible for providing finance administration support across the site. Your daily tasks will include:

Finance & Administrative Support

  • SAP Purchase Ledger entry

  • Month-end preparation

  • Managing stock reports and inventory records

  • Scanning and archiving Proof of Deliveries (PODs)

  • Assisting with policy governance and compliance tracking

Site & Contractor Administration

  • Issuing daily work permits for contractors

  • Supporting Health, Safety, Environment & Risk (HSER) requirements (RAMS, insurance compliance, etc.)

  • Organising site meetings and visitor arrangements

  • General office and correspondence duties

  • You’ll also assist with sales order processing and commercial invoicing cover (with full training provided).

About You

We are seeking someone who is proactive, eager to learn, and able to handle confidential information with accuracy and integrity.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4 or above)

  • Business Administration qualification or relevant organisational experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Understanding of GDPR and working with sensitive data

  • Previous experience in administration or purchasing roles

Desirable:

  • Experience working in finance or manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with SAP systems

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
