Finance Analyst – Financial Planning and Performance

Location: London (2 days a week in our Soho offices)

Reporting to: Director of Investor Relations and Financial Planning & Performance

As the UK’s favourite property platform, Rightmove aims to give everyone the belief that they can make their move. To help us achieve this, we’re looking for a Finance Analyst to join our team

Financial Planning and Performance (FPP) is a newly formed team at the centre of Rightmove's Commercial Finance function. This isn't a traditional Finance Analyst position. You'll gain exposure to commercial finance, financial planning, investor relations and AI transformation, while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business. Whether you're looking to deepen your finance expertise or broaden your understanding of how a successful FTSE-listed business operates, this role offers a unique platform for growth and development.

What you’ll be doing

Commercial finance:

  • Work closely with the Finance Business Partnering Manager and Financial Operations Manager to prepare reporting and analysis, support business planning and forecasting activities, and develop commercial, stakeholder management and business partnering skills
  • Maintain financial reporting models that track project costs, ensuring information is accurate, complete and up to date
  • Analyse and consolidate data from across the business to generate meaningful insights that support decision-making and financial performance discussions
  • Build relationships with teams across the business to understand project progress, gather key updates and help ensure financial reporting reflects the latest business activity
  • Review data for errors, inconsistencies or missing information and help improve data quality
  • Help prepare materials for business planning, forecasting updates, month end reporting and half-year and full-year results presentations.
  • Ensure financial data and assumptions are robust, traceable and audit-ready, supporting accurate forecasting and reporting activity.

AI and automation:

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI and automation across Finance processes.
  • Lead the development and implementation of AI-powered solutions that reduce manual effort and improve insight generation.
  • Act as a champion for AI adoption within Finance, helping colleagues experiment with new technologies and ways of working.

Investor relations:

  • Develop materials to support interactions with investors and sellside analysts (e.g. presentations, analysis, FAQs), drawing on your own work and relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Join and contribute to investor meetings (virtual and in person)

Who you are

  • Finance experience or working in a finance team is nice but not a must have
  • A motivated self-starter, who is results-oriented, proactive by nature, able to be pragmatic and cope with surges of workload at short notice, particularly during reporting periods
  • Comfortable working and thriving in a fast-paced, digital organisation
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; able to build relationships across functions at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines on multiple projects/tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with financial and numerical literacy (including good knowledge of Microsoft Excel)
  • High level of intellectual and emotional intelligence, with high ethical standards
  • Eager to learn and experiment with AI and automation tools, with a curiosity for finding smarter and more efficient ways to solve problems
