Job Description

Sports Directory is a fast-growing sports company supplying quality sports equipment to schools and local authorities across the UK.

We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Finance Administrator to join our friendly finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone returning to work or starting a career in finance who wants to gain hands-on experience in all areas of the department.

  • Contact customers by phone, email, and letter regarding payments.
  • Keep accurate records of all communications and account actions.
  • Process monthly statements and respond to customer queries.
  • Handle credit card payments and enter details into the system.
  • Manage finance and credit control email inboxes.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and ensure payments and credit notes are correctly posted.
  • Liaise with the sales team to resolve queries and disputes.
  • Monitor and manage overdue accounts, escalating where needed.
  • Set up new customer accounts and carry out credit checks.
  • Place accounts on hold where invoices are overdue by 90+ days.
  • Support the finance team with other ad hoc duties.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Patient, polite, and professional manner.
  • Determined and able to follow through on tasks.
  • Good team player but also able to work independently.
  • Keen to learn and develop within a finance role.
