Established in 2015, Rat & Boa is the brainchild of friends Valentina Muntoni and Stephanie Bennett. Championing the essence of duality, Rat & Boa is more than a fashion label; it's a celebration of femininity and individuality. Driven by continued inspiration, we continue to grow, building our Rat and Boa world and exploring new challenges. Rat and Boa have plans to branch into new categories over the coming year, growing into a fully-fledged fashion house.
The Role
We are looking for a creative and innovative Fashion Design Intern to join our dynamic design team. This internship will offer the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced designers, gaining hands-on experience in fashion design, from creative concept development to final production. The ideal candidate should have a strong artistic sense, organisational skills, professional attitude and a passion for design.
Skills you will develop/learn:
Design Development:
- Assist in the development of seasonal collections under the guidance of the designers.
- Participate in research and brainstorming sessions to gather inspiration for new designs.
- Help in collating the mood presentation boards for internal and external meetings.
- Assist in sourcing a selection of fabrics, trims, and accessories for garment production.
Sampling and Production:
- Creating technical drawing for new styles on Illustrator.
- Photograph and catalogue in house and vintage samples
Trend Analysis:
- Stay updated on current fashion trends runway, exhibitions and any aligning inspiration
- Prepare reports on fashion trends and market analysis to support the design team's decision-making.
- Overseeing organisation of internal vintage and archive wardrobe.
Studio admin and Coordination:
- Updating in house and digital studio presentation boards
- Support the team during e-com and photoshoots
- Oversea Photograph and logging off in house samples and vintage
Requirements
We want to hear from you if.......
- You are currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Fashion.
- You have proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other relevant design software.
- You have a good understanding of garment construction, textiles, and fashion trends.
- You have excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
