Facade Engineer

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Façade Engineer to join our expanding UK team and contribute to high-profile, multidisciplinary projects.

The role may be based in any of our UK offices and will cover projects across the UK and beyond.

We seek a technically strong professional with excellent communication and report-writing skills who will support us in the integration of our multidisciplinary teams.

In addition to being technically accomplished, candidates will be good at client liaison and stakeholder management and will actively engage with the internal processes of a large multi-disciplinary consultancy.

• Undertake technical delivery of façade engineering services on projects, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
• Participate with internal technical discussions and contribute to sharing knowledge about façade engineering to the wider AtkinsRéalis Building Design community.
• Provide support in client interactions, including preparing materials and helping identify opportunities under guidance.
• Help maintain and improve team processes and tools, contributing ideas to support the growth of the façades team.

• Be a chartered engineer or qualified architect – or be approaching professional qualification.
• Demonstrate proven ability to work independently and effectively in at least two of the following areas:
  • Structural analysis.
  • Thermal analysis.
  • Embodied carbon assessment.
  • Specification authoring.
  • Concept design.
  • Glazing and curtain walling design.
  • Production of detail drawings.
  • Review of contractors’ designs.
  • Site inspection and supervision.
  • Forensic analysis of existing façade defects.
  • Possess good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Be an inquisitive individual who enjoys collaboration and the stimulation of exchanging ideas with others.
