Join a fast-growing company with a purpose! At Fastned, you will actively contribute to accelerating the transition to electric mobility. Together with over 450 colleagues (more than 50  nationalities) across 10 countries, we have big plans: we are building a Europe-wide network of 1,000 beautiful fast-charging stations where electric drivers can charge their cars with energy from the sun and wind. We have recently been voted best charging network in the UK, France, and the Netherlands, a testimony to our drive to offer the best charging experience to EV drivers!

Your role

As a senior member of the UK expansion team, you will drive the growth of Fastned and contribute to our mission: 'Giving freedom to the electric driver".You will work directly alongside the UK Expansion Lead to shape and drive our site acquisition strategy, identifying and securing prime locations, forging strategic partnerships, and continuously raising the bar for how Fastned grows its UK  footprint as we strive towards a European network of 1,000 fast charging stations on prime locations.

We are seeking a senior professional who brings a strong sense of ownership, professional maturity, and autonomy to the role.

In concrete terms, this means you…

  • Contribute to the UK network development strategy: defining target geographies, site typologies, partnership models, and deal structures that maximise long-term network value.

  • Lead the identification, structuring, negotiation, and execution of new EV charging site opportunities across a wide range of counterparties, including commercial landlords, roadside operators, developers, and local authorities, ensuring every transaction is aligned with the network development strategy, commercially robust, and delivered on terms that meet Fastned's financial performance targets.

  • Lead complex, high-value negotiations independently and with commercial authority, structuring leasehold, freehold, and licence agreements that deliver on both strategic and financial targets, while spearheading our drive towards securing flagship locations across the country.

  • Own and actively manage a portfolio of contracted and pipeline sites, maintaining rigorous discipline over deal timelines, commercial terms, and internal reporting standards.

  • Work cross-functionally with design, planning, construction, legal, and operations teams to ensure seamless transition from signed agreement through to live station.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the team's processes, tools, data and market intelligence to prioritise effort on the highest-value opportunities.

  • Have a keen eye for market developments and knowledge of when to take advantage of the right opportunities. This includes monitoring policy development and understanding its impact on our development plans.

  • Help the team structure and streamline processes as much as possible to maximise effectiveness & efficiency.

  • In this role you need to feel comfortable diving into techno-economic topics (together with our subject experts), as you need to know your part when leading negotiations. Your onboarding will include a variety of “masterclasses” around the topics of e-mobility and fast-charging.

  • Embrace an ambassadorial approach to representing Fastned externally at industry events and trade shows, as well as during day-to-day negotiations.

  • Act as a senior thought leader within the UK team: mentoring colleagues, elevating team standards in negotiation and market analysis, and contributing to Fastned's broader European expansion knowledge base.

  • Bring creative, outside-the-box thinking to how we structure partnerships and unlock sites that others cannot.

Is electromobility new territory for you? No problem! As part of your onboarding, you will take part in a series of exciting workshops where you will learn everything you need to know about electromobility and fast-charging infrastructure.

Who are we looking for

You are a high-impact dealmaker with deep roots in the UK commercial property market and the strategic instincts of a leader. You bring a level of professional maturity that allows you to operate with autonomy, challenge the status quo, and bring others with you. You bring along extensive experience with negotiations in commercial real estate, ideally in site acquisition with private landowners, agents, and governmental bodies.

You are keen to communicate Fastned's vision and values to site owners & real estate companies and support your team in its expansion. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

  • 5+  years of relevant experience in commercial real estate site acquisition or development, ideally within roadside, retail, infrastructure, energy, or a similarly complex real estate environment.

  • Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), or demonstrable equivalent professional standing.

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • An established and active network of relevant stakeholders across UK property, including landowners, commercial developers, and local authorities.

  • Comfortable managing dozens of projects simultaneously, at different stages of development, each with their own deadlines and individual stakeholders.

  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills: able to present with conviction to both internal leadership and external C-suite counterparts.

  • Open for regular travel within the United Kingdom and occasional travel to continental Europe.

  • You’re an outgoing person who enjoys seeing new places and meeting new people.

Nice-to-have…

  • Directly relevant experience in ultra-rapid EV charging is not a pre-requisite, but it is a positive.

  • Experience with grid connections and work with DNOs, IDNOs and ICPs.

  • Experience with the UK planning system (NPPF, permitted development rights) as it relates to EV infrastructure or energy assets.

  • Plus points for previous experience in fast growth companies or renewable energy.

  • Strong financial literacy: you know your way around a financial model, understand yield, IRR, and NPV in the context of a site acquisition, and hold your own in conversations with investment-minded counterparties.

  • Highly motivated to accelerate the energy transition: you genuinely care about contributing to the UK’s drive towards electric car adoption, renewable energy and the improvement of air quality.
