What the Role Entails

Tencent Venture Lab is seeking an Executive Producer to join our team. You will provide crucial production support and advisory to our portfolio companies, driving quality outcomes through your expertise in collaboration, organizational structuring, and efficient processes in production. This role involves the opportunity to enhance the performance of innovative game development studios worldwide. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with deep game development knowledge, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership skills, passionate about delivering high-quality entertainment experiences.

  • Work with executive teams of European portfolio studios to align strategic product planning, franchise, and lifecycle management, with business goals and investment objectives.
  • Provide insights on market & industry trends to guide strategic investments. Monitor and analyze the performance of portfolio companies from product perspective to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Drive game quality in a collaborative and constructive way, partner with essential team members to create an organizational structure and processes that allow the team to efficiently produce high quality work on time and on budget.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for project tracking, including milestone reviews and feedback, work with dev team on their production related issues and challenges
  • Prepare and regularly communicate project status information to management
  • Work on Gaas and innovation promotions
  • Serve as a mentor to executive team within portfolio companies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions to disseminate knowledge and best practices.

Who We Look For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, Project Management or a related field.
  • 15+ years’ experience as a Senior or Executive Producer or VP of Development, with proven track record of developing and successfully shipping games on multiple platforms.
  • Leadership experience in setting strategic direction. Outstanding organizational skills and ability.
  • Experience managing a production team ideally externally—experience with medium-large teams or development studios within the video game industry within one location and globally.
  • An understanding of a wide range of project management concepts, tools, and approaches and an ability to tailor methods to meet the requirements of the team
  • Experience delivering multiple high-quality entertainment experiences, understanding the motivations of your player base, and can assess innovation to deliver upon expectations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Deep knowledge of performance optimization techniques and technology trends. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Passion for gaming and deep understanding of the gaming industry. Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems. Collaborative and able to work effectively with diverse teams.
