WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As an Executive Director of Data Science you will help Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) to climb data science/AI growth curve by interpreting business needs and opportunities through a data science/ML solutions perspective. You will support the Head of SCIB Global Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Office to manage the collaboration with different businesses and geographies, to define the strategy and establish a common methodology of work.

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:

• Maintain a deep understanding the business’s marketplace dynamics.

• Translates business use cases into data solutions and communicates business needs to data scientists and Data/ML engineers experts

• Define, together with the business, the key KPIS in order to evaluate the model performance and monitor the trends.

• Define, together with the internal stakeholders, business cases to quantify data science/AI solutions benefits, costs, and impact. Present results in a clear manner.

• Coaches colleagues in the development of business cases.

• Facilitate the collaboration between different data scientists and data/ML engineers to deliver data science solutions/AI projects from design to execution.

• Keep updated of the latest tendencies and new techniques about data science and artificial intelligence topics.

EXPERIENCE

• + 8 years of experience leading data or business transformational projects, proven expertise of how's and why's of preparing and justifying business cases and value propositions; ability to justify business expenditures by identifying cost, benefits, ROI, opportunities, and risks.

• Strong background in Corporate and Investment Banking Business will be a plus.

• Demonstrated experience of principles, technologies and algorithms of machine learning as well as in math and statistics.

• Proven ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and present result in a simple manager to business

EDUCATION

University Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related scientific disciplines

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• High level of Spanish and English

• Able to translate complex technical language into a clear business strategy

• Resourceful, composed and patient in pioneering new solutions

• Works and communicates constructively with others at the local and global levels, placing collective success above individual gains

OTHER INFORMATION

• Availability to travel sporadically
