The Role

Flutterwave is hiring an Executive Communications Lead to drive strategic executive communications. This role is responsible for shaping, amplifying, and protecting the executive’s public voice across digital platforms, media engagements, speaking opportunities, and high-level events.

The Executive Communications Lead will develop and execute communication strategies that align the executive’s personal brand with Flutterwave’s corporate vision, ensuring consistency, credibility, and thought leadership positioning across all channels.

This role requires a strong storyteller, brand strategist, and operator who can manage social media communications, executive visibility, event branding, and cross-functional coordination with internal teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive executive communications strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage and grow the executive’s social media presence (e.g., LinkedIn, X, industry platforms) with compelling, on-brand content.
  • Draft high-quality content including speeches, keynote scripts, opinion articles, social media posts, press quotes, internal messages, and talking points.
  • Own messaging and narrative development for key announcements, product launches, partnerships, and industry commentary involving the executive.
  • Lead event branding and positioning for executive speaking engagements (local and international), ensuring cohesive messaging, presentation design, and on-site brand alignment.
  • Coordinate media interviews, podcasts, panel appearances, and industry engagements in collaboration with PR and Communications teams.
  • Monitor public sentiment, media coverage, and social engagement related to the executive and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Develop thought leadership initiatives that position the executive as an authority in fintech, payments, innovation, and the African digital economy.
  • Collaborate with Design, Marketing, Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure messaging accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Prepare briefing documents and communication playbooks ahead of public engagements and major stakeholder interactions.
  • Manage crisis communication support specific to executive visibility, ensuring proactive and reactive messaging alignment.
  • Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, media mentions, sentiment) and provide regular reporting on executive brand impact.
  • Maintain a forward-looking communications calendar aligned with business priorities and industry moments.
  • Ensure personal information of customers, employees, and partners is processed and protected in line with data privacy laws and global best practices


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in executive communications, corporate communications, brand strategy, public relations, or related roles—preferably within fintech, technology, or high-growth environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing brand communications for senior executives or C-suite leaders.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editorial skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences (media, investors, customers, regulators, internal teams).
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, digital storytelling, and thought leadership positioning.
  • Experience managing high-profile speaking engagements and executive-level events.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate business priorities into compelling narratives.
  • Ability to work with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation tools (PowerPoint/Keynote). Familiarity with social analytics tools is a plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
