The Events Marketing Manager will lead the marketing efforts for various events, focusing on strategy, campaign execution, audience engagement, and performance analysis, ultimately supporting business growth.

As the leading news organization for independent real estate journalism, The Real Deal produces more than 20 high-stakes events each year, ranging from large-format trade shows and conferences to executive-level forums and custom events for our clients. These events are the central nervous system for deal flow and capital raising in the industry.
This is an acquisition marketing role focused exclusively on audience development and attendance generation for revenue, not event operations or experiential production.
As Events Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in generating awareness, interest, and attendance for our entire events portfolio, directly contributing to the new business growth and success of the group.
You will report to the Head of Marketing and work in our office, located near Hudson Yards, 3x a week
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and execute multi-channel campaign plans to drive awareness and conversion of our event propositions including: email, digital media, owned media, paid media, social, print, sales, partnerships
Proactively analyze in-cycle campaigns using real-time data, drawing on successes and failures to rapidly optimize tactics and deliver on demanding acquisition goals.
Take full ownership of all event websites to ensure a premium, conversion-focused customer experience that clearly articulates our events' value proposition.
Collaborate with design, programming, event operations, and paid media teams to derive creative ways to drive audience acquisition.
Work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop targeted audience segmentation, identify data gaps in key markets, and define strategies to engage high-value principals and investors.
Deliver the marketing plan to your direct manager and wider team for each event
Develop and maintain clear dashboards/reports that summarize the performance of the marketing campaigns
Continuously analyze B2B event performance, proactively collaborating with team members to identify opportunities for optimization and implement strategies to enhance outcomes
Job Requirements:
At least 5 years of progressively responsible marketing experience, ideally in B2B publishing, events, media or agency equivalent;
An understanding of the events ecosystem and varying formats, including trade shows, conferences, networking events, and bespoke programs.
Expert experience with event registration, CMS, email marketing platforms (like Sailthru), and project management systems (like Asana).
The ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with dedicated and centralized teams, translating editorial substance from our programming team and networking value into marketing urgency.
Analytical skills and a data driven mindset, coupled with a passion for creativity and forward-thinking flair.
Experience with the test-learn-measure approach to rapidly validate marketing hypotheses.
Experience analyzing results and situations, getting to solutions and making recommendations quickly.
Ability to embrace and drive change in a high pace environment
Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal skills
