Location: Nottingham with travel to our other offices

Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours)

We're looking for an Events and Marketing Assistant to join our highly regarded marketing team. This is a varied role where you'll develop skills across both events and marketing while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive team. Working closely with our Events and Marketing Assistant Manager, you’ll help deliver a wide range of events, from technical seminars and webinars to unique networking events for our professional community, including cinema showings, sports activities and chicken wing eating competitions!

Day-to-day, the role will involve marketing activities across a range of platforms, channels and systems. The individual will also be responsible for carrying out a diverse range of tasks necessary to organise and deliver a range of internal and external events.

You will also help publicise and promote these events, ensuring attendance targets are achieved, stakeholder objectives are met, and valuable feedback is gathered afterwards to support continuous improvement.

While event organisation and marketing are at the heart of the role, in this varied position you will also be involved in wider marketing activities, including content creation, merchandise design and CRM management.

The important work you will be doing:

  • Supporting and occasionally overseeing events on the day, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, assisting on event set-up, communicating with staff, organising vendors and getting high-quality photo and video content

  • Understanding the purpose and goals of events and keeping this at the forefront of event planning and creation

  • Staying in line with budgets when coordinating events

  • Leading on merchandise design for events, recruitment and wider firm initiatives, managing stock checks and reorders

  • Post-event analysis and consideration for content and improvements

  • Updating and cleansing the CRM database

  • Producing promotional content and assets for social media

  • Supporting our team members internally with organising department events or initiatives across our offices

  • Maintaining event trackers and plans

  • Supporting wider marketing projects and helping colleagues across the team when required

  • Visiting other offices and attending events when necessary

The skills and experience you will bring:

From the get-go, you will be an instrumental part of our marketing team and will have exposure to Partners within PKF Smith Cooper and the wider team. As such, we are looking for an individual who is a clear and confident communicator with meticulous attention to detail.

You must be able to manage and plan your own workload and, as a large percentage of your time will be spent organising multiple events simultaneously, excellent organisational skills and the ability to keep calm under pressure are essential.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Confidence communicating and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • A keen eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work

  • A positive, collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to team success

  • Some experience helping to organise events, activities or projects, whether through work, education, volunteering or extracurricular activities is advantageous
