Castleton Commodities International is hiring a European Power Scheduler for our London Office as part of CCI’s European Merchant Operations. The candidate will assist with daily activities such as Energy Scheduling (Power and Natural Gas), position reconciliation, interaction with Power TSOs, and developing ad-hoc reports and operational processes. This is an excellent opportunity to continue to build your experience within energy trading in a dynamic and driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the company's balancing in various European power market areas.
  • Assist in setting up markets, products, or scheduling systems for European power.
  • Coordinate with trading functions to ensure accurate and timely nomination of CCI’s gas storage contracts and power assets across Europe.
  • Assist in reconciling trading activities.
  • Develop ad-hoc operational analysis reports.
  • Lead change management projects to handle market changes or seamlessly onboard new markets, where appropriate,

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in power scheduling, knowledge in nominating interconnectors a plus. 
  • Proficiency in running Python scripts, with a basic level of coding knowledge preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with various trading desks/functions across all levels.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in an additional language is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends on a rotational basis.
