Reports To Head of ETF Product Strategy & Management

Level Manager / Senior Manager

We’re proud to have been helping our clients build better financial futures for over 50 years. How have we achieved this? By working together - and supporting each other - all over the world. So, join the ETF team and feel like you’re part of something bigger.

Our clients come from all walks of life and so do we. We are proud of our inclusive culture and encourage applications from the widest mix of talent, whatever your age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, social background and more.

As a flexible employer, we trust our people to perform their role in the way that works best for them, our clients and our business. We are a disability-friendly company and would welcome a conversation with you if you feel you might benefit from any reasonable adjustments to perform to the best of your ability during the recruitment process and beyond.

About your team

The Indexing and Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) business is a strategic priority for the firm as we look to evolve our product offering and capabilities to meet the changing needs of our clients. The Indexing and ETF platform allows us to better serve our clients by offering new capabilities and efficient access to existing capabilities. We have created a specialist team that will work closely with existing Fidelity distribution and operational teams. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the development of a high-profile new business whilst having the resources and financial backing of a large, established asset manager.

About your role
The ETF Capital Markets manager will be responsible for managing day to day contact with all counterparties involved in the management of ETFs including liquidity providers, portfolio managers, operations and back office for both primary and secondary market ETF activity. In addition, the role will require the individual to support the expansion of the ETF offering through new offerings and improving the existing range. The role will require strong knowledge of the FIL ETF product range as well as the FIL ETF platform to ensure timely and accurate passing of information to our partners.

Proactively manage and develop the FIL ETF Cap Markets function by ensuring ease of trading and execution on the primary and secondary market for all participants.

  • Partner with ETF Investment Managers and operations teams across asset classes to support a robust primary market model
  • Oversee and identify efficiencies and improvements to existing processes
  • Input to strategic ETF platform discussions to ensure best in class primary market processes are in place to support new launches and improve the existing offering
  • Support delivery of pre-trade reporting and liquidity analysis to aid distribution / client engagements
  • Oversee primary market activity through close engagement with APs and middle/back office
  • Lead onboarding of APs - develop relationships with all third-party partners to ensure maximum coverage of FIL ETFs
  • Work with APs, market makers and brokers to ensure ETFs are trading as efficiently as possible in the secondary market with the aim of reducing total execution cost through tighter spreads and increased market depth
  • Monitor and review exchange listing strategy across both primary and secondary venues
  • Monitor spreads, quotes, and trading volumes of our ETF products throughout daily trading hours and develop new tools to support this function.
  • Support ETF business development and client servicing by providing trading and liquidity analysis to internal stakeholders
  • Become a SME for FIL ETF products as well as competitor exposures. Translate this into new product analysis via the provision of actionable market insights
  • Monitor availability of ETFs on fund platforms to ensure market coverage and availability to support distribution efforts across Europe
  • Demonstrate initiatives, creativity and expertise in looking for opportunities and solutions to both day-to-day activities and long-term projects. Become an advocate for Fidelity’s ETF proposition internally and externally

About you

  • Experience working within an ETF Capital Markets role or in an operations/trading role either for an asset manager or at a broker/dealer preferred.
  • Previous experience of working within the ETF industry required
  • A natural self-starter with the commitment and desire to help develop and grow a new business
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to become a technical expert with an ability to communicate this knowledge to a broad audience
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with external industry contacts
  • Knowledge of index based investment strategies an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial tools such as Bloomberg and Morningstar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • A team player, who will be able to work within FIL’s overall culture and fit with its entrepreneurial but collaborative style

Feel rewarded

For starters, we’ll offer you a comprehensive benefits package. We’ll value your wellbeing and support your development. And we’ll be as flexible as we can about where and when you work – finding a balance that works for all of us.
