ESG Regulatory Consultant

Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Finance, Risk, Regulatory & Financial Crime | Type: Permanent

The Role
As an ESG Regulatory Consultant at Capco, you will work with leading financial services organisations to navigate the rapidly evolving ESG regulatory landscape. You will support clients in meeting compliance requirements, embedding sustainable practices, and delivering measurable impact through robust ESG strategies.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise clients on ESG regulatory frameworks including EU Taxonomy, SFDR, TCFD, TNFD, GRI, ISSB, and CSRD disclosures
  • Conduct ESG risk, double materiality, gap, and impact assessments to identify risks and opportunities
  • Support the development and implementation of ESG strategies, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Deliver ESG data analysis, including emissions calculations (Scope 1, 2, and 3) and carbon reporting to support regulatory disclosures
  • Lead client engagements, managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in ESG, sustainability, or regulatory consulting within financial services
  • Strong knowledge of ESG regulations and sustainability reporting frameworks
  • Proven experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and emissions calculations, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate regulation into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with ESG data tools or sustainability reporting platforms (e.g., GRI, SASB)
  • Knowledge of carbon markets, offsets, and decarbonisation strategies
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA ESG, GRI, GARP)
  • Experience working across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
  • Background in environmental science, sustainability, law, or related fields
