This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office.

The ESG Analyst will be an integral part of the global HarbourVest ESG team and will work to sustain our vision of embracing responsible investing through partnering with our stakeholders and employees.

They will be based in London and will work collaboratively in a team of five to help plan and execute the ESG team’s vision and strategy. This role has strong career growth potential in an area of strategic focus for the firm, and the successful candidate will be given opportunities to develop their role and career path at HarbourVest.

What you will do:

  • ESG screening support for HarbourVest investment processes, including the identification of ESG-related risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the maintenance and development of our ESG datasets, developing understanding and dexterity to support complex data-related projects.
  • Develop research and analysis capabilities, drawing data insights to support our investment and investor relations teams.
  • Develop a strong interest in working with HarbourVest IT and data programs, growing the skills to identify solutions for the long-term success of our ESG data program.
  • Work across teams to identify and implement new data tools that support our ESG analysis capabilities over the long-term.
  • Provide qualitative support to our client reporting and presentations, and our ESG-related compliance monitoring and reporting processes.

What you bring:

  • Highly motivated with strong project management, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work across teams to build new process and generate engagement.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Advanced data analysis capabilities and curiosity about IT systems strategy.
  • Well-developed communication skills that span written, visual and verbal.
  • Ambitious mindset, with an ability to be nimble and work without a playbook.
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual honesty and curiosity.
  • Commitment to sustainability topics and a career in responsible investment.
     

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (B.A / B.S) or equivalent experience
     

Experience:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in sustainable finance or relevant field
