The Role:

This role is in office Monday to Thursday.

The GP Strategic Capital (“GPSC”) platform within Blue Owl is dedicated to acquiring minority equity stakes in and providing long-term financing to established alternative asset managers. Since December 2011, the team has formed 60+ partnerships with leading institutional quality alternative asset management firms (“partner firms”). GPSC providers partner firms with access to an over 60-person post-investment team, the Business Services Platform (“BSP”). Based in New York, London, and Hong Kong, the BSP drives growth and industry best practices across a variety of focus areas, helping partner firms evolve and pursue their own strategic vision. GPSC is seeking to add an Associate or Senior Associate with an ESG consulting or responsible investment background to the BSP’s ESG Advisory team. The BSP’s ESG Advisory team supports partner firms with strategic ESG projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Support BSP’s ESG Advisory team with all aspects of strategic value creation work for partner firms, including:

o Helping partner firms implement and enhance responsible investment strategies

o Working with partner firms to identify and navigate ESG-related risks and opportunities

o Helping partner firms leverage data to drive commercial value in their portfolios

o Meeting regularly with partner firms to provide strategic insights

• Help scale physical climate risk analysis support for partner firms

• Actively contribute to the team’s generation of educational content and materials for partner firms, including the team’s annual ESG Benchmarking Study

• Support with planning and hosting educational events and webinars for partner firms, including the BSP’s annual ESG Summit for partner firms

• Actively monitor ESG resources and technology tools for alternative asset managers and help maintain the ESG Advisory team’s database of solutions

• Contribute to the team’s responsible investment thought leadership for partner firms

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in financial services or consulting, in a responsible investing or climate-focused role

• Undergraduate degree with excellent academic credentials. Master’s degree in sustainability or a related field considered a plus

• Physical climate risk analysis experience and familiarity

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a superior ability to synthesize and communicate complex information into a polished and presentable format using PowerPoint

• Excellent attention to detail in work product with a high standard for precision

• High degree of intellectual curiosity about the alternatives industry

• Exceptional work ethic, positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit

• Resourceful, solutions-oriented problem-solver
