Job Description:

In order to support the Mission Systems Centre of Competence at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching we are looking for a

Equipment Test & Integration Engineer (m/f/d) Eurofighter Electronic Warfare

Our team is responsible for the development and integration of advanced sensor systems for the Eurofighter, including E-Scan Radar and Defensive Aids Subsystems, across national and multinational programs.

You will play a key role in the test, verification, and integration of electronic warfare equipment into the Eurofighter platform, supporting the full product lifecycle—from early integration planning and laboratory testing through to flight trials and fleet introduction. With a focus on ensuring seamless interoperability and performance of complex avionics systems, you will be central to the successful upgrade and qualification of the Eurofighter’s Defensive Aids capabilities.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your location

Located about an hour’s drive north of Munich, Manching is an up-and-coming market town that offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities. Here, you can enjoy the quality of life in the countryside while the pleasures of near-by cities are still within easy reach.

Your Benefits:
  • Be part of an international, high-performance team directly shaping the future of Eurofighter’s electronic warfare capabilities

  • Collaborate closely with Airbus Centres of Competence, project teams, equipment suppliers, partner nations, and end customers

  • Engage in diverse projects across multiple phases of the system lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on integration and test

  • Work in a dynamic environment combining cutting-edge technology with real-world operational requirements

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, define, and execute integration and test strategies for Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment within the Eurofighter avionics architecture

  • Develop and review test specifications, procedures, and acceptance criteria for ground-based, laboratory, and flight test campaigns

  • Lead and participate in system integration activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), bench-level testing, and aircraft-level integration

  • Coordinate and conduct interface testing between EW equipment, aircraft avionics, and other mission systems to ensure functional compatibility

  • Support qualification and verification of equipment at supplier and Airbus test facilities, including monitoring of environmental, EMC, and performance testing

  • Analyze test data, identify root causes of discrepancies, and drive corrective actions in collaboration with suppliers and internal engineering teams

  • Validate equipment behavior against system and operational requirements through structured test campaigns

  • Contribute to test readiness reviews (TRR), and flight test planning

  • Act as technical interface during integration and test phases with internal departments, suppliers, partner companies, and customer representatives

  • Document test results, generate integration reports, and support certification and approval processes

Your Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • Solid understanding of avionics integration, test methodologies, and verification processes (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754, ARP4761)

  • Experience in system-level testing, HIL testing, or avionics integration in a military or aerospace environment

  • Familiarity with Electronic Warfare systems (e.g., radar warning receivers, jamming systems, missile approach warning) and their integration into combat aircraft

  • Knowledge of Eurofighter avionics architecture, data buses, and mission system interfaces is highly desirable

  • Practical experience with test tools, data acquisition systems, and scripting is a plus

  • Experience working with equipment suppliers in a test and integration context

  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in an international, interdisciplinary team environment
