Job Description Summary:We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Intern to join our London or Edinburgh office for a four-month period with potential for extension. We’re looking for an organised, proactive, and motivated individual with a strong technical background who shares our strategic ambition to “minimise our impact on the environment.” This role is ideal for someone who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector and is passionate about sustainability.
We operate with a hybrid working model with 3 days at the office and 2 days remote working.
When in the office, preferred location is London, but alternatively, Edinburgh can also be considered based on circumstances.

Job Description:

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of our Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement Team, working closely with our Climate and Environmental Impact Manager and collaborating with colleagues across the UK, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the US. This is a great opportunity to be involved in solving some of the renewable industry’s biggest sustainability challenges, supporting Nadara’s international efforts to drive the energy transition in a responsible way.

This role will contribute directly to projects focused on our 3 pillars of Environmental Sustainability: Climate, Circularity, and Nature, offering a diverse and fascinating opportunity. This will include, but not limited to:

  • Playing a key role in the development of a Sustainable Decommissioning Feasibility Study, analysing both technical and commercial considerations in the decommissioning of renewable energy assets.

  • Being a proactive member of Nadara’s Sustainable Decommissioning Working Group, assisting with presentation preparation, data analysis and stakeholder engagement.

  • Conducting desktop research to identify cutting-edge environmental solutions, with opportunities to apply academic theory to real-world renewable energy projects.

  • Supporting data analysis across Nadara’s environmental sustainability areas, including GHG emissions, climate risk, biodiversity, and resource use, across an international energy portfolio.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a university degree in a relevant field (e.g. environmental science, engineering, sustainability, geography, data science).

  • Strong data analysis skills, with experience using Excel and/or other data visualisation tools.

  • Highly organised with a methodical approach to tasks and attention to detail.

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a willingness to contribute ideas and take initiative.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to varied audiences.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • Able to work regularly from our London office (or Edinburgh by agreement).

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.

Preferred but non-essential:

  • A degree or academic background in engineering, natural sciences, or data-related subjects.

  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, particularly wind and solar.

  • Experience using analytical or data science tools such as Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, or GIS software (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS) to support sustainability assessments or technical analysis.

  • Experience with commercial data and considerations, such as cost analysis, investment planning, or economic feasibility.

  • Prior experience with sustainability topics such as circular economy, lifecycle analysis, GHG emissions accounting, or environmental risk management.
