The roleWithin this role, you’ll support the engineering testing process, ensuring the quality and reliability of software before it reaches user acceptance testing (UAT). This role is critical in coordinating testing activities and ensuring that releases meet rigorous standards.

Key focus areas will include establishing and standardising testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies to ensure consistency and efficiency in testing processes. You’ll continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness, and you’ll engage and strengthen stakeholder engagement practices, to ensure clear communication and alignment of testing goals.

The person

To be successful in this role you will have gained significant subject matter expert level experience in software testing, including solid tenure in a senior or lead role, leading test teams. Test and release management experience is essential, as is proficiency in testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, QTest). You’re also familiar with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

Your technical experience is likely to be supported by relevant professional certifications e.g  ISTQB Certified Tester or similar, is highly desirable. We’ll also need you to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities; you’re adept at inspiring and guiding testing teams to achieve high-quality results.

We are looking for you to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively build rapport and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. You’re accustomed to using your analytical skills to strategically address and resolve complex testing issues. And whilst the role won’t initially have formal people management accountability, you will be enabling those around you to deliver, through your mentoring and project management skills.

Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
