 Role Overview: 

Huntsman Advanced Materials is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Manager to join our site in Duxford. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost‑effective engineering and maintenance operations that support site performance and business objectives. 

You will lead Mechanical, Electrical, and Maintenance teams, driving asset reliability, continuous improvement, and a strong EHS culture while developing people and long‑term site capability. 

We are looking for someone who is a hands‑on leader, comfortable operating in a complex manufacturing environment, and passionate about safety, performance, and people development.

Role Responsibilities: 

As an Engineering Team Manager, you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Maintenance teams to ensure safe and reliable site operations 

  • Driving site performance through effective maintenance and reliability strategies (OEE, downtime, schedule adherence) 

  • Developing and implementing asset care and predictive maintenance plans 

  • Optimising maintenance processes and systems, including SAP PM 

  • Managing engineering and maintenance budgets, including contractor and cost control 

  • Delivering continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN principles 

  • Ensuring full compliance with EHS and Process Safety standards, including Permit to Work 

  • Coaching, developing, and engaging the engineering team to build long‑term capability 

 

 

Experience and Competencies: 

What we are looking for: 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering discipline 

  • Extensive experience in an engineering leadership role within a manufacturing environment 

  • Proven people management experience leading multidisciplinary teams 

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability systems (SAP PM preferred) 

  • Experience delivering continuous improvement or LEAN initiatives 

  • Solid understanding of EHS and Process Safety requirements 

  • Strong commercial awareness with a data‑ and performance‑driven mindset 

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
