What is Flagstone?

Flagstone is many things. An online savings platform, reinventing how individuals, businesses, and charities manage, protect, and grow their cash. A diverse group of people, bound by a collaborative spirit, and shared purpose. And lastly, a thriving, profitable business – where smart people do their best work.

Each definition shares a common thread: our unique culture. It’s our pride and joy. And our competitive advantage.

A feel for our culture

To revolutionise the savings market, we need to be at our best. But high performance takes more than talent – it takes a culture of kindness, respect, and growth.

That’s why we’re building a diverse, inclusive community, where your voice is heard and valued. Where, with close support and room to develop, you can surpass even your own expectations. And be rewarded for it.

We may not change the world, but we can change the world of financial technology. And all it takes is a winning mix of drive, talent, and empathy. Our culture celebrates all three.
But enough about us. Let’s talk about you.

Does this sound like you?

You’re a Mobile Engineering Lead with expertise in greenfield mobile development and a passion for delivering innovative, high-quality systems. With ideally 10 years of experience, you’re excited about leading teams and thrive on designing systems, coaching engineers, and fostering an environment of high performance while delivering impactful solutions. You’re comfortable working cross-functionally, driving technology to align with business goals, and can understand the "how and why" behind technical decisions.

What you’ll do:

As a Mobile Engineering Lead, you’ll guide the development of a brand-new, React Native mobile application. This will include:

Coaching and guidance: collaborate with engineers, focusing on their career progression, technical expertise, and personal development.

Deliver excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations and delivery of your team’s workstream, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions.

Collaborate effectively: Partner with the Product Manager to plan and schedule upcoming work, manage resources, and align priorities with business goals.

Foster innovation: Drive best practices in mobile engineering, system design, and development processes.

Shape the future: Build and evolve a mobile-first strategy, incorporating cutting-edge technologies to enhance user experiences.

What you’ll bring:

We’re looking for a Mobile Engineering Lead with excellent people management skills and technical expertise in mobile development. Here’s what we’d love to see:

  • Mobile development expertise: Proven experience delivering high-quality apps for iOS and Android, with a thorough understanding of app store release processes, regulatory guidelines, and best practices.
  • React Native experience: Proficiency in React Native, with knowledge of modern app development practices.
  • Cross-platform skills: Familiarity with iOS and Android build processes, testing strategies, and performance optimisation.
  • Architectural know-how: An understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Hexagonal Architecture, and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns.
  • Testing proficiency: Deep knowledge of integration testing, and implementing robust test strategies.
  • Frontend familiarity: Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and frameworks like React.
  • Leadership qualities: Stakeholder management experience, coaching skills, and a track record of fostering high-performance teams.
  • Adaptability: Commitment to staying updated with the latest in mobile development technologies and trends.

How we reward you:

At Flagstone, the benefits extend beyond false gifts like “fruit and snacks”. Instead, we invest in your health, wealth, and professional development. Here’s a selection of our benefits:

  • Private healthcare
  • Life insurance (four times your annual salary)
  • Dental/optical care
  • Matched pension contributions (5%)
  • Income protection
  • Around the World in 90 days (remote working possibility)
  • £1,000 annual learning bursary
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • Remote working kit, for when you're not in the office
  • Access to our platform, at no cost
  • Additional 3 days community and charity leave each year
  • Quarterly half days for Wellness leave
  • Flexible bank holidays
  • Gym discount

All are welcome.

At Flagstone, we’re assembling a diverse team that defies our industry’s norms. Think this role could suit you? We encourage you to apply, no matter your background.
