Portfolio Manager, Capex Projects

Location: Slough, Berkshire, UK

Become a Portfolio Manager at Lonza. . Ensure CAPEX projects meet timelines, cost, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as the focal point for internal customers to ensure CAPEX investments are delivered within agreed timelines, costs, and quality standards.
  • Lead a portfolio of projects by developing a common project management approach.
  • Engage third-party or internal project management resources to ensure flawless delivery of capital projects.
  • Ensure project teams adhere to agreed project processes, maintaining strict control of project costs, scope, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Plan and resource project requirements adequately, ensuring teams are suitably skilled and trained.
  • Follow safe design and execution standards to provide a full operational handover meeting asset lifecycle quality and compliance standards.
  • Present monthly portfolio status reports accurately and bring up issues as needed.
  • Define and manage changes to project scope effectively.
  • Communicate project benefits and improvements to the wider organization.
  • Complete and share lessons learned throughout the project process.
Key requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in project management, preferably within pharmaceutical environments adhering to GMP processes. Facility/infrastructure projects.
  • High proficiency in project management tools and activities, including cost, change control, time, schedule, procurement, and qualification/validation.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated success as a great teammate, showcasing a focus on results, honesty, critical thinking, and leadership.
  • Experience in 3rd party supplier interaction and supplier management.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead a team to achieve objectives successfully.
