In this high impact role, you will lead Logistics UK’s technical policy agenda, focusing on engineering and the exciting rise of autonomous vehicles. As our go to expert, you will influence decision makers, collaborate with key government agencies, and ensure our members are informed and represented on the issues that matter most.

- Set the policy agenda on engineering and autonomy, from HGV testing to DVSA compliance frameworks.
- Be the expert, proactively track emerging trends, advise colleagues, and share your insights across the organisation.
- Engage at the highest levels, represent Logistics UK with the DVSA, Department for Transport, Traffic Commissioners, and other critical bodies.
- Lead our Engineering Forums, bring members together, build consensus, and ensure their voices are heard.
- Communicate with impact, write compelling reports and consultation responses, present at major events, and support media and public affairs activity.
- Work cross-functionally, support internal teams with your expert guidance and collaborate to meet wider business goals.
- A qualified vehicle engineer with a strong track record, ideally in fleet engineering or vehicle standards development.
- A policy savvy professional (or ready to become one), with the ability to craft clear, persuasive positions backed by technical know-how.
- Excellent communicator, confident in writing for government and industry audiences, and presenting your ideas with authority.
- A strategic thinker who’s highly organised, detail driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Desirable but not essential
- Experience in policy roles within industry bodies, regulators, or government.
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant field.
