Description

📍 Location: London (Old Street office, 3 days/week).

🌍 Join a high-growth, mission-driven tech company that’s transforming the future of work.

📣 Reports to: CTO.

👋 About Blink

Blink is an employee app for frontline workers, with industry-leading engagement and a DAU of 99%. We’re dedicated to scaling our platform through precision, automation, and innovation. As part of a world-class engineering team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of how we support frontline workers.

💻 The Role

We’re looking for a pragmatic, delivery-focused Engineering Manager to lead two of our Product & Engineering (P&E) teams. You'll drive effective execution, uphold engineering standards, and support first-time managers in adjacent teams. Though this is not a hands-on coding role, your technical experience will help unblock teams when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead two cross-functional P&E teams: with a focus on high-quality, timely delivery, you’ll ensure work is well-defined, prioritised, and continuously flowing.
  • Champion Agile Execution: Instil and evolve Agile and Kanban-based workflows. You'll help teams break work into manageable increments, visualise progress, and improve flow efficiency over time.
  • Enable High-Quality Engineering: Promote robust engineering practices — including code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing, and clear documentation — to support sustainable delivery.
  • Mentor New Leaders: Coach and support team leads in adjacent groups who are taking their first steps into engineering management, helping them build confidence and delivery discipline.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Platform stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and outcomes.
  • Support When Needed: While not a coding role, your background allows you to dive into technical discussions, triage urgent issues, and assist in unblocking teams when necessary.
Requirements
🚀 About you:

We’re looking for a talented, ambitious individual who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment. You should be a resourceful, inquisitive, and quick learner, with a passion for solving customer problems and making a real impact. In addition, you will have:

  • Proven Leadership: Experience managing multiple engineering teams, ideally in a fast-paced, product-led environment.
  • Delivery-Oriented Mindset: A strong track record of delivering complex features or initiatives on time — and helping others do the same.
  • Agile & Kanban Fluency: Deep familiarity with Kanban and Agile principles, including work-in-progress limits, cycle time measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Engineering Acumen: Solid foundation in modern software development practices, with the ability to engage credibly in technical discussions.
  • Collaborative Style: A team-first, low-ego approach to leadership. Skilled in balancing team health with accountability and focus.
Benefits
💚 Why Blink?
  • You will have the opportunity to be part of something impactful, large-scale, and meaningful.
  • Most importantly, you’ll work for a company with a strong purpose, with an ambitious and supportive team embarking on a journey most start-ups can only dream of!

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary and generous equity allocations with significant upside potential
  • 25 days annual leave per year (+ public holidays!)
  • The equipment needed to do a great job
  • Private healthcare
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Social events (company getaways, lunches, breakfasts, nights out)
  • Convenient central London location
