Department OverviewThe Specialty Cameras Engineering team is responsible for developing cameras for special applications, such as environments with explosive or highly corrosive atmospheres or long range surveillance for border projection. The products are aimed at public and commercial safety. The team is responsible for the development of the complete products, including hardware, firmware and mechanics and takes care of the whole development life-cycle that includes development, testing and maintenance of the systems we build.
We work in two teams, one in Schio, Italy, and one in Ware, United Kingdom.
Job Description
This role is expected to be working out of our Ware offices, some hybrid possibilities can be offered on a case by case basis.
As an engineering manager in Ware, you will be responsible for a team of twelve talented engineers who develop cameras for long range video surveillance and border control.
Your team’s responsibilities will include:

Ensuring the execution of the company roadmap, making sure that product will meet the requested specifications, cost and schedule;

Ensuring that the team follows the MSI methodology;

Ensuring that the output of engineering is stored accordingly to MSI procedures;
-
Cooperating with the Supply Chain manager to ensure that customizations for specific customers’ requests are executed in timely manner;
-
Mentoring and fostering career growth of individuals on your team;
-
As a leader, you will collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure the optimal implementation of products; these stakeholders may include teams from other MSI locations worldwide

Supporting proposing, administering and overseeing the program budget.
Basic Requirements
Required qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or Electronic Engineering or related fields.
-
Previous engineering experience managing mechatronics teams;
-
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary development teams (2 years or more);
-
Experience working with firmware and manufacturing teams
-
Proven experience with the most common international compliance standards norms, su as CE, FCC, UL, BIS;
-
Experience with PLM and tracking tools such as Oracle Agile and JIRA
-
Proven experience in budget administration;
-
Problem solver - able to work under minimal supervision.
Would be a plus:

Previous active involvement in compliance

Practical experience with Agile and Scrum
