About the Department
Cloudflare's Engineering Team builds and runs the software that handles large amounts of requests on the Internet today. We also build and run the internal tools and platforms that run that software. Individual engineering teams are typically responsible for large areas with considerable impact, and able to execute autonomously within that space to deliver value to their customers - be they internal or external.
What you'll do
We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the UI Platform Team at Cloudflare. You'll be responsible for the core technology that drives the Cloudflare Dashboard. You'll be pioneering new techniques and tooling to move away from a traditional monolithic application and onto Cloudflare's innovative Web Fragments. You will set best practices, evangelize this change across engineering teams, and ensure adoption. The team also owns UI infrastructure (CI/CD, observability, experimentation tools) for the monolith and for the fragment architecture. Our mission is to improve developer productivity and application performance.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the team to build, migrate, and scale UI platform frameworks.
  • Set and promote best practices for UI development and evangelize the transition across engineering teams.
  • Drive UI infrastructure excellence, including CI/CD, observability, and experimentation tools.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver self-serviceable, cohesive user experiences.
  • Tackle cross-cutting concerns to improve developer velocity and code quality.

Qualifications

  • Experience building and leading a team, including hiring, coaching, and professional development.
  • A self-directing nature, keen to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
  • Experience coordinating projects across multiple teams and experience with driving migrations from monolith to modular frameworks is a plus.
  • Empathetic and clear communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and technical evangelism skills.
  • Experience building and scaling large-scale web applications.
  • Expertise in React.js, TypeScript, and modern front-end systems.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead a pivotal migration to a modern, scalable UI platform.
  • Shape best practices and drive impactful engineering change.
  • Work with modern technologies and solve large-scale challenges.
