💬 Accurx is where conversations happen with and about patients.

For decades, the NHS has struggled with fragmented systems that make simple tasks feel impossible. We’re changing that by building a single, system-wide platform that connects everyone through communication.

What started as a way for GPs to text a patient has now evolved into an all-in-one digital toolkit used by 98% of GP practices.

Our platform now powers Total Triage to manage patient demand, and Self-Book, which lets patients schedule their own appointments in seconds. We’ve automated routine care with Patient Questionnaires for long-term conditions, while Accumail finally allows staff-to-staff communication to happen instantly across different care settings. We’re now pushing the boundaries of the consultation itself with Accurx Scribe, our AI-powered note-taker that drafts medical notes in real-time.

The team

We are a mission-driven team of 80 engineers based in London and the surrounding areas, united by the challenge of fixing healthcare communication. We are innovating for the NHS at a scale and depth that has never been done before, solving the real-world problems that stand between millions of patients and the care they need.

We are a highly cross-functional group where engineering, product, data, and security collaborate as true peers. We foster a low-ego, high-impact environment that values expertise and new ideas, maintaining the high standards required to build and scale a national healthcare communication platform. Within this ecosystem, our teams operate with high autonomy, owning everything from initial system design to long-term service stability.

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be working in a pod for one of our core products. This could be AI Scribe, Care access and prioritisation, or Integrations. If you’re curious about these pods & their specific roles, head here for more information.

Challenges you’ll solve…
  • You will turn ambitious product visions into high-scale reality, bridging the gap between big ideas and technical execution by raising the bar for quality in what and how our teams build.

  • You will protect your team’s focus and well-being by being resourceful with your constraints, ensuring goals are backed by realistic capacity planning and a resilient approach to system health.

  • You will act as a high-level technical partner, embracing challenge and constructive conflict to help engineers navigate complex growth journeys, while building an inclusive environment where we succeed together.

  • You’ll drive and collaborate across the organisation to clear blockers (team level or technical) and ensure your team’s efforts directly move the needle on our mission to transform healthcare for everyone.

You should apply if…
  • You have a strong technical background in building user-focused, high-traffic software and are comfortable leading in a system design-led environment (C#, .NET or Java experience is a plus, but we are open to any backend-focused tech stack).

  • You have experience leading in user-centric, multidisciplinary teams, partnering closely with Product, UX and Design.

  • You bring a strong business mindset to the table, making it easy to translate complex technical challenges into clear strategies for any stakeholder.

  • You are a delivery-focused leader who thrives in agile environments, creating the clarity and structure teams need to hit their goals.

  • You remain close to the craft, actively shaping system design and helping your team navigate high-level architectural decisions.

  • You have a proven track record of managing the full employee journey, from headhunting top talent to coaching high-performers.
