What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Manager on the Computer Vision team, you’ll lead a group of highly skilled engineers responsible for developing, deploying, and scaling our computer vision systems that power safety intelligence across industrial environments. We are looking for a strong leader who has worked on computer vision at scale.

You will:

  • Lead and coach a team of computer vision engineers, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and a culture of collaboration.

  • Oversee projects from concept to deployment, ensuring smooth coordination across research, data, and platform teams.

  • Shape and execute strategy for how Protex’s vision systems evolve, balancing innovation with operational scalability.

  • Drive delivery by aligning team efforts with company objectives, setting clear priorities, and managing timelines and dependencies.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure compliant, ethical, and customer-focused AI solutions.

  • Scale team impact by refining development workflows, improving data quality processes, and optimising model deployment pipelines.

  • Manage strategic vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, defining scopes of work, and fostering strong, long-term partnerships to enhance data operations and model quality.

What You’ll Need
  • 5+ years of software or AI engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or technical management role.

  • Experience in understanding computer vision in production.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, delivering complex technical projects on time.

  • Strong project management and communication skills, with experience translating strategic goals into actionable engineering plans.

  • Background in AI, ML, or data-driven software systems, or experience managing teams that build such systems.

  • A collaborative mindset: skilled at creating clarity, structure, and alignment across fast-moving teams.

  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing technical talent.

Nice To Have
  • Hands-on familiarity with computer vision, deep learning, or model deployment pipelines (e.g., PyTorch, TensorRT, ONNX).

  • Experience scaling software systems in a startup or high-growth environment.

  • Exposure to data governance, model evaluation, or ML Ops practices.

Protex AI is an inclusive and equal opportunities employer. We are committed to creating an equitable workplace for everyone regardless of gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, education level, or race.
