 We know that our bank is only as good as the people who build it, and as the Engagement and Inclusion lead at Starling you will be part of the People Team, playing a critical part in ensuring that our culture  remains key to our success.

The Role

  • Support the continuous improvement of a broad range of people processes and policies ensuring that our people's experiences drive engagement and inclusion.
  • Develop and lead our Engagement survey cascade, supporting the business with appropriate action planning to support meaningful engagement, response and change.
  • Use data and feedback to further develop our employee wellbeing employee proposition.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to design strategically aligned and innovative solutions around engagement, inclusion and wellbeing.  Anticipate and proactively respond to themes, thought leadership, feedback, or changes in regulation and legislation to ensure Starling remains best in class.
  • Work in partnership with our networks and forums, use data to assess the impact of our work and make recommendations for change
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance across the organisation. 
  • Coach business leaders on engagement, inclusion and wellbeing to ensure best practice across the organisation.
  • Partner with People Partners, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development and Internal Communications teams to further the knowledge, skills and confidence to embed engagement and inclusion in all that we do.
  • Support the external reporting including but not limited to the Women in Finance Charter and Equal Pay. Contribute to the creation and implementation of action plans to meet any internal or external commitments.

This role will be supported by 1 direct report:  People Engagement Partner

Requirements

Role Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate and understand evolving engagement and inclusion best practice, and the employee engagement landscape;
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies related to diversity and inclusion;
  • Experience presenting complex topics and concepts simply to a broad range of audiences;
  • Credibility to be viewed as a subject matter expert in inclusion, and/or wellbeing and/or engagement.
  • Previous analytical, data analysis and presentation skills;
  • Experience of using data to build a case for change;
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously;
  • Ability to balance time sensitive priorities efficiently and navigate in a fast-paced environment and
  • Highly articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to find a way forward navigating different perspectives and priorities.

Candidate requirements

  • Previous experience of supporting the delivery of organisational-wide change.
  • Previous experience of developing, leading and implementing Inclusion Strategies or Engagement programmes across an organisation.
  • Able to build effective working relationships and provide partnership and expertise to a wide range of people including, but not limited to business leaders, People Partners, the wider People Team, Internal communication colleagues  and employee networks.
  • Understanding of engagement and inclusion best practice.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
