The Role

As an Energy Pricing & Refinery Optimization Consultant, you will:

  • Lead and deliver consultancy projects focused on energy pricing strategies across Refinery and Supply Chains (B2B, B2C), including crude procurement, product blending, and distribution economics.
  • Implement and optimize pricing platforms such as PROS, Kalibrate, and other industry-standard tools and related integration to planning tools.
  • Integrate pricing strategies with supply chain planning, considering inventory, logistics, and market volatility.
  • Monitor market trends and support business development activities, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain client and partner relationships to win and deliver impactful projects.
  • Solve complex client challenges by designing tailored pricing and market strategies that align with their goals.
  • Help clients navigate the energy market transition by integrating pricing solutions with broader business strategies.
  • Collaborate with client teams to design end-to-end pricing frameworks that incorporate refinery scheduling, supply chain optimization, and trading strategies.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary proposals and thought leadership in refinery economics and pricing innovation.
  • Lead and contribute to multi-disciplinary proposals to secure new engagements.

Requirements

We are looking for an Energy Pricing Consultant with:

  • Expertise in energy pricing models and refinery economics, including margin optimization and supply-demand balancing.
  • Experience in refinery planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Aspen PIMS, SpiralSuite, Haverly, etc.) and integration with pricing systems.
  • Experience delivering consultancy projects in energy markets, covering areas like pricing strategy, tariff optimization, and market analysis.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, including renewable energy integration and demand response mechanisms.
  • Proven client-facing roles and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders confidently.
  • Exceptional numerical analysis skills, model development capabilities, and proficiency with analytical tools.
  • Previous experience in implementing pricing platforms such as PROS, Kalibrate, or similar tools like PriceAdvantage and a2i Systems' PriceCast Fuel.

  • Have a track record of auditing pricing ecosystems, identifying inefficiencies, and suggesting innovative solutions.
  • Be adept at facilitating workshops and working in matrixed team structures, including client-facing roles.
