The RFP function is a critical component of the firm’s commercial infrastructure, responsible for delivering high-quality, bespoke RFPs for complex OCIO and Wealth Solutions opportunities The team operates as a specialist capability, focused on high-complexity, high-value opportunities and sits at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Investments, supporting complex opportunities and ensuring consistent, accurate, and differentiated messaging.
The function also plays a key role in driving commercial effectiveness through process optimization, content strategy, and the adoption of technology and AI within the complex deal RFP team. The function works closely with the Standard RFP and DDQ team in Budapest, as well as global Heads of RFP, to ensure scalable, consistently delivery of high-quality RFPs to clients.
Role Description
The Head of EMEA RFP is a hands-on, execution-focused leader responsible for driving both the strategic transformation and day-to-day delivery of the RFP function. The role leads a London- and Paris-based team of RFP writers focused on bespoke RFPs for OCIO and Wealth Solutions, complex mandates and private markets opportunities. The Head of RFP operates as a “player-coach,” acting as a writer or reviewer on strategic deals where required.
The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end delivery of complex RFPs, drive improvements in processes and content, and own the development and optimization of RFP technology platforms (e.g., Responsive, Diligent Vault), including defining and delivering an AI-enabled RFP model that improves the speed, quality, and scalability of responses. The role requires strong judgment, deep RFP experience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Process Excellence: Define and implement RFP/DDQ operating strategy; position the function at the forefront of modern RFP delivery; enhance workflows and best practices; track and report on KPIs; identify and implement process and automation improvements.
- RFP & DDQ Delivery: Oversee and contribute to end-to-end RFP, RFI, and DDQ delivery, with a focus on large and strategic opportunities; assess opportunity suitability and prioritization; ensure high-quality, timely submissions; maintain and enhance content libraries and consultant databases.
- Define and the EMEA RFP Transformation Strategy: Working in alignment with global client business RFP teams in the Americas and APAC, drive the development and use of AI and generative AI for draft response generation, content summarization, and tailoring responses to client requirements. Identify and implement automation opportunities across the RFP lifecycle; partner with technology, legal, and compliance teams to ensure appropriate governance and controls.
- Content Innovation & New Media: Lead the evolution of RFP outputs toward more modern, client-centric formats, including brochure-style responses, interactive materials, digital content, and video. Identify opportunities to enhance storytelling, usability, and differentiation of responses, improving overall client experience and positioning.
- Technology Enablement: Own and optimize RFP platforms (e.g., Responsive, Diligent Vault), ensuring they are embedded in workflows and delivering high-quality, reusable content at scale.
- Deliver Data Ecosystem: Partner with Global RFP Leadership to deliver a structured content ecosystem (e.g., standardized language, tagging, metadata) that enables effective use across all types of RFP.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with Sales, Product, Investment teams and other subject matter experts essential to the RFP process; coordinate inputs and ensure alignment on messaging and positioning.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and develop a team of four RFP writers based in London and Paris; manage workloads and prioritization; review and edit output to ensure consistent quality.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Track KPIs (e.g., turnaround time, win rates, quality); use data to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Experience/Qualifications
- 10–12 years of RFP/DDQ experience within asset management
- Proven ability to define and lead a clear strategic vision for RFP delivery, translating business priorities into scalable operating models with commercial impact; manage complex RFP processes; and deliver high-quality submissions under tight deadlines
- Experience in a hands-on leadership role, balancing team management with direct delivery
- Strong investment knowledge and understanding of asset management products
- Experience with RFP tools (e.g., Diligent Vault, Responsive) and interest in technology, AI/automation
- Excellent writing, editing, and attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, assess opportunities, and manage competing demands
- Analytical mindset with experience tracking and improving performance through KPIs
