Join us as an Embedded Finance Credit Strategy Risk Lead
- In this influential role, you’ll support the business through developing and maintaining risk and decision support models for NatWest embedded finance

You’ll need to spend at least 2 days a week in the office to coordinate resources and align teams
What you'll do
As Embedded Finance Credit Strategy Risk Lead, you’ll drive forward the embedded finance credit strategy, by influencing and taking ownership of new product design, engaging with external clients, account opening, portfolio management and innovation, covering strategy and policy.
While managing and providing oversight of the portfolio performance, you’ll drive decisions and strategy off the back of powerful analytics and MI to underpin strong customer franchises, earning sustainable risk adjusted return.
Throughout the course of your work, you’ll challenge accepted practice and drive change to ensure continuous improvement and capability enhancements, particularly from an unsecured products perspective.
Other key aspects of your role will involve:
- Making sure that relevant risks have been identified and effective controls are in place to monitor, manage and mitigate
- Managing and developing a team of highly technically skilled portfolio and analytical experts
- Driving the development of personal lending portfolios, assessing and recommending opportunities where appropriate
- Supporting the management of portfolio credit risks including bad debt provisions, risk weighted assets and costs, delivering impairments and provision cover within limits
- Ensuring that the personal risk portfolios continue to perform within risk limit frameworks
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need excellent analytical skills and extensive experience in the development and practical application of credit risk strategies and risk models. You’ll ideally be qualified to degree level, in a numerate discipline, with experience in data driven analysis and statistical or mathematical modelling.
We’ll also expect you to have:
- Strong experience with coding languages
- Proficiency with analytical and presentation tools
- An understanding of the banking industry, open market commercial models, its risk management, and the regulatory requirements
- Project management skills and the ability to work as a team and with stakeholders
- The ability to explain technical subject matter to a non-technical audience
