Location: Peterborough

Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (Block of 3) & 5 days on, 3 days off (Block of 4) - 10 Hours per Shift

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician with an understanding of mechanical systems to join our busy engineering team in Peterborough on a high-profile corporate site.

As our onsite Electrician you will have experience of reactive maintenance and planned maintenance scheduling and a proven track record of general system fault finding regarding general building services plant and equipment. You must have a good understanding of wiring diagrams and panel drawings to enable speedy fault finding.

You will be responsible for maintaining the electrical engineering systems, plant, equipment, and building critical components in order to ensure their safe operation, serviceability and compliance with statutory regulations, policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for associates and visitors.

The successful candidate will have strong and effective communication skills, be self-motivated, and have the ability to motivate others and work well under pressure. You will be enthusiastic, helpful and have a sense of pride in your work and will have a flexible approach to deal with unknown circumstances as and when they occur.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Operations

• Actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes

• Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities as requested

• Actively participate in the operation, control and repair of the M&E/HVAC Services

• Carry out emergency lighting and fire alarm testing

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Undertake fault-finding on all Building Services, critical systems and equipment

• Use 'cause effect analysis' and detailed examination to gain solutions

• Act as Low Voltage Appointed Person and be responsible for all generator testing and electrical shutdowns (Beneficial)

Communication & Coordination

• Liaise with the management team regarding services, plant and equipment failures

On-Call Responsibilities

• Join the on-call team providing out of hours call out cover as required

Who We Are Looking ForEssential Qualifications

• An experienced electrical tradesperson with a recognised and registered E.I.T.B. or C.I.T.B Apprenticeship

• City & Guilds BS7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent

Beneficial Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing

Technical Experience

• Knowledge of LV Switching, Generators, UPS systems

• Considerable maintenance experience in an electrical role

• Working knowledge of Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Pumps and their associated controls

• Good understanding of mechanical building services

• Working knowledge of CAFM systems & MS Office (Beneficial)
