The editorial traineeship is a six-month programme which entails a wide variety of tasks that will give the successful candidate fantastic hands-on experience in an innovative editorial operation.

We are looking for candidates with a keen understanding of the UnHerd mission and a hunger for news and ideas. If you’re someone who has a knack for reading between the headlines, can pick out interesting stories and spot trends that others might have missed, then this could be perfect for you.

What you’ll do:

The successful applicants will receive training in all aspects of digital editorial production, including:

·         Idea generation

·         Forward planning

·         Editing

·         Writing

·         Production of podcasts, video and events

·         Social media and SEO

·         Graphics and use of CMS


Requirements

Who we’re looking for:

Candidates with:

·         A demonstrable interest in politics, news and ideas

·         Fluent writing skills

·         Good organisational skills

·         A self-starter, can-do attitude

·         Journalistic experience is welcome but not essential
