We’re looking for an eBay Authentication Training Specialist who will be responsible for training and developing new and existing authenticators for the eBay Authenticity Guarantee (AG) program. This role is crucial in ensuring that all team members are proficient in eBay AG’s authentication and condition assessment techniques and processes, while maintaining the high-quality standards that the Collectors brand is known for in the industry.
You’ll report to the eBay Authentication Manager and will work from our Ruislip, UK office.
What You’ll Do:
Serve as an expert of eBay AG’s card authentication and condition standards.
Serve as an expert in eBay AG’s processing procedures and protocols.
Authenticate and evaluate the condition of raw & graded trading cards (sports, non-sports, or TCG depending on the business needs) in an expedient manner but without compromising accuracy.
Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing eBay AG authenticators, including hands-on authentication and condition assessment practice and theoretical knowledge.
Vet and evaluate both internal and external authenticator candidates during trial sessions and training courses.
Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to keep the eBay AG authentication team updated on new techniques, standards, and industry trends.
Evaluate the performance of eBay AG authenticators through assessments and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
Collaborate with the eBay AG authentication teams to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted training initiatives.
Maintain detailed records of training sessions, participant progress, and assessment results.
Ensure that all training materials are up-to-date and reflect the latest standards and practices.
Act as a mentor and resource for eBay AG authenticators, providing guidance and support as needed.
Improve knowledge and skill with active personal research and experience.
Stay informed about industry developments, especially as it pertains to new counterfeits and alteration methods circulating the market, and incorporate relevant information into training programs.
Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition and eBay AG leadership in developing and executing recruitment and vetting plans.
Who You Are:
You possess 1 - 3 years of direct authentication and authenticator training experience.
You have extensive experience in authenticating and grading a variety of trading cards, with a deep understanding of card grading standards and techniques.
You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable manner.
You display proficiency in developing and editing class presentations and drafting accompanying supporting documents, coupled with a fundamental understanding of the necessary teaching equipment.
You are patient, detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality.
You exhibit strong research skills and effective problem-solving abilities.
You have a passion for teaching and helping others develop their skills.
You are adaptable and able to adjust training methods to suit different learning styles.
You have a passion for the trading card hobby and are actively engaged in the collecting community.
