The E-7 Maintenance Instructor will be based at the E-7 Training Centre at RAF Lossiemouth.  Working as part of a team of BDUK and RAF Maintenance Instructors, and as part of the E7 Joint Training Team, reporting to the Boeing E-7 Training Delivery Manager, the role will act as an Maintenance instructor delivering maintenance training for the customer E-7 technicians. 

You will be working in a highly regulated and safety conscious environment and as such everything you do will be to the highest standard and always in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations.

BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including many training services. This is an exciting time to join a growing team of training experts working at the very tip of the spear bringing in to service this fantastic UK AEW capability.

 

Specifically the Maintenance instructor will:

  • Deliver training for E-7 Maintenance training in accordance with company standards, customer requirements and CAA/MAA regulatory guidelines

  • Develop and conduct E-7 maintenance instruction

  • Develop training tools and techniques to support customer requirements

  • Apply instructor led training and computer based training techniques and methodologies

  • Coordinate training, apply standardised teaching techniques, carry out demonstrations when required and apply evaluation procedures and methods in order to comply with appropriate military and civilian regulatory agencies to achieve contractual standards and certification requirements

  • Evaluate/examine the competence of students in accordance with company and customer regulatory requirements

  • Identifying and correcting conditions and behaviours that affect employee, public, and customer safety; upholding safety standards; demonstrating proactive safety culture leadership

  • Additionally:

    • Conduct analyses to evaluate customer technical training needs to determine appropriate training content, objectives and design

    • Establish processes for identifying training content and evaluating training effectiveness. Use specialised software technology to research, configure, maintain, update and develop new and existing media and materials

    • Ensure accuracy and quality of training products

    • Coach and develop others

    • Provide training services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience of maintaining Multi-engine narrow or wide bodied commercial or military aircraft and have provided instruction on the same.

  • RAF or civilian experience of developing and delivering aircraft maintenance training through an Operational Conversion Unit or equivalent civilian training establishment

  • Ability and willingness to cross-train to avionic and/or mechanics trade in order to offer team resilience

  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas, cultures and functions.

  • IT proficient specifically Microsoft Office applications

  • Skill and ability to: collect, organise and analyse data; summarise findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in aircraft maintenance and modification

  • 3+ years' experience conducting technical training and/or forming instructional system development.

  • Boeing 737 experience, either military derivative or civilian equivalent (desirable but not essential)
