Job Description

Are you ready to play your part in ensuring that every LEGO® product meets the highest safety and compliance standards and has market access?

We are seeking an inspiring leader to head our Testing & Certification team and play a crucial role in our Product Safety & Compliance Leadership Team!

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the Testing & Certification team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

  • Set direction and establish clear goals for the team to align with the overall objectives of the organization.

  • Analyse deviations and trends in product testing and certification, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented effectively.

  • Ensure that all products undergo third-party testing at accredited laboratories, achieve local certifications where required, as well as all legally required technical documentation.

  • Manage and execute global agreements with third-party testing laboratories that possess the required accreditations, capabilities, and capacities.

  • Plan and control the budget for third-party Testing & Certification, and coordinate productivity initiatives across the broader department.

  • Oversee the Digital Roadmap within Product Safety & Compliance and ensure optimal use of relevant internal IT systems for the Testing & Certification area.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce time-to-market.

Product Safety & Compliance protect our consumers, build the LEGO Group’s reputation, and facilitate market access by ensuring that LEGO® products are safe by design and meet or exceed applicable legal requirements globally.

The Testing & Certification team ensures that all LEGO products are compliant, and 3rd party tested at accredited labs and certified with all technical documentation in place. In this position, you will drive innovation in testing strategies, cultivate a culture of excellence within the team, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to enhance product safety and compliance. Your leadership will ensure that the safety and compliance of our products is verified via 3rd party testing, and that the right certificates and technical documentation is in place. Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven experience in product testing and certification, with solid years in a leadership role.

  • Documented skilled people leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization, and with capability to build a highly motivated and satisfied global team

  • Proven track record of successfully managing testing and certification programs

  • Ability to ethically balance business needs, and compliance requirements with excellent analytical skills and data-driven approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience from working with regulatory compliance in the consumer product sector with solid understanding of international safety standards and regulations applicable to toys and/or other consumer products

  • Skilled network builder across different functional areas

  • Interest in budget forecasting and experience with LEAN and/or continuous improvement activities
