The ideal candidate is a consultative and strategic sales professional with a deep understanding of indirect tax complexities across Europe, capable of translating client pain points into customized VAT solutions.
Duties and responsibilities, as they align with Ryan’s Key Results
People
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and client-centric culture.
- Collaborate closely with Firm Principals and Practice Leaders to align sales strategy with technical delivery.
- Support contract negotiations and ensure smooth handovers to delivery teams.
Client
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Tax Managers, CFOs, and CEOs of mid-sized to large European companies.
- Engage decision-makers through personalized outreach, thought leadership, and attendance at VAT-related events and conferences.
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand client needs and position Ryan’s VAT capabilities accordingly.

- Drive new client acquisition and revenue growth across Belgium and the broader EU VAT market.
- Target businesses with international operations.
- Identify prospects dealing with VAT obligations in countries where they are not established.
- Generate, track, and manage leads through CRM tools (Microsoft® CRM, Prospect Register).
- Build compelling proposals and RFP responses tailored to client sectors and tax challenges.
- Stay current on EU VAT trends, regulatory shifts, and compliance technology.
- Represent Ryan at strategic industry forums and networking events.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Taxation, Law, or related field.
- 6–8+ years in B2B sales within VAT, tax advisory, compliance, or related professional services.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of European VAT frameworks, particularly non-resident VAT compliance.
- Strong commercial acumen and consultative sales ability.
- Confidence in engaging C-level and senior tax stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to build trust and influence outcomes.
Technical Proficiency
- Microsoft® Excel (basic), Word (advanced), Outlook (intermediate), CRM platforms (advanced), and online tax research tools.
Certificates and Licenses
- Valid driver’s license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- May include limited mentoring or coordination of junior sales or business development staff.
