Job Description
Director of Product Management, Threat Response Services and Products
Rapid7 is seeking an exceptional Director of Product Management to set the definitive strategy and execute the roadmap for our Threat Response portfolio. This is a highly visible, strategic leadership role where you will own the end-to-end product experience across Rapid7's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and Preemptive MDR solutions, as well as Rapid7's Endpoint agent and SOAR/Response capabilities. These are mission-critical solutions trusted by thousands of organizations to reduce risk and respond to threats around the clock. You will translate customer needs, SOC operational insights, and market intelligence into a clear roadmap, working cross-functionally with product engineering, detection engineering, SOC operations, customer success teams, and go-to-market teams to deliver world-class services and solutions in a rapidly changing threat environment.
About the Team
The Threat Response Product Management team sets the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Rapid7's portfolio of expert-led managed security offerings and supporting response technologies. Partnering closely with SOC Operations, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, the team ensures our product and services strategy translates into differentiated capabilities that position Rapid7 as a leader across the managed security services market. We live by the mantra of "Impact Together," leveraging a global network of cross functional partners to translate strategy into market-leading service outcomes.
About the Role
The Director of Product Management, Threat Response will own the product strategy for Rapid7's managed security services offerings and supporting response capabilities. You will define how analysts, automation, and AI work together to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes-translating SOC operational realities, vulnerability management workflows, and customer expectations into a prioritized roadmap that drives retention, differentiation, and growth. You will work hand-in-hand with SOC leadership, detection engineering, vulnerability research, and platform teams to continuously improve coverage, response times, and the overall customer experience.
In this role you will:
  • Define and Execute Strategic Vision: Drive the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Rapid7's MDR portfolio, Endpoint agent and SOAR/Response capabilities. Employ a "think big, act small" approach, breaking ambitious goals into time-bound, pivotable milestones that improve service quality, analyst efficiency, and customer outcomes at scale.
  • Inspire and Align Global Teams: Align and inspire a global, cross-functional organization around key strategic initiatives. Build a powerful network across SOC Operations, Detection Science, Vulnerability Research, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver sustainable improvements that elevate the managed services customer experience.
  • Champion Service Delivery Excellence: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality service and capabilities on time, holding yourself and others accountable for meeting commitments that drive significant customer value.
  • Innovate and Optimize Across the Service Portfolio: Transform market trends, competitive intelligence, customer feedback, and operational data into a prioritized, actionable backlog. Continuously pursue smarter and more disruptive improvements to how managed services are delivered-including the role of AI, automation, and analyst augmentation-that challenge the status quo.
  • Drive Momentum with Decisive Action: Execute efficient, transparent, and data-backed decisions that proactively resolve roadblocks across the service delivery chain, integrate diverse business perspectives, and accelerate product and operational momentum across a multi-service portfolio.
  • Own the Customer and Analyst Experience: Define the end-to-end experience for both managed services customers and the analysts who deliver these services. Ensure both experiences improve continuously as the portfolio scales.

The Skills You'll Bring:
  • Deep Domain Expertise: 7+ years of progressive product management leadership experience focused on managed security services, MDR, SOC operations and related SIEM, security analytics, SOAR and/or EDR/XDR platforms. Deep familiarity with the operational realities of a 24x7 managed service delivery model.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep technical expertise in cybersecurity operations, advanced threat detection methodologies, proactive threat hunting, vulnerability assessment and prioritization, incident response workflows, and the nuances of the managed services delivery market.
  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and align high-performing cross-functional teams with absolute clarity and strong decision-making in fast-paced, high-stakes security environments.
  • Executive Communication: Superior communication skills that clearly articulate product objectives, strategic rationale, and service value to foster commitment from stakeholders across all levels-from SOC analysts, detection engineers, and vulnerability researchers to executive leadership and enterprise customers.
  • Growth Mindset: A "Never Done" mindset-characterized by insatiable curiosity, a commitment to driving progress over perfection, and the resilience to navigate complex organizational and market change as the managed security services landscape evolves.
  • Data-Driven Discipline: A disciplined, rigorous, and data-driven approach to evaluating service product performance, measuring customer impact, and prioritizing investments with a focus on learning fast from missteps.
