About the Role
This is a senior role that combines strategic leadership with operational delivery. The Director will input into product vision and roadmap for identity and account services, drive execution through multiple squads and partner across Shared Technology and the wider product organisation to achieve Elsevier’s goals. The role also includes direct line management of product managers, with responsibility for their delivery, development, performance, and recruitment.
Responsibilities:
Lead product delivery for NeoID, ID+, and Account products, ensuring alignment with Shared Tech and Elsevier-wide priorities.
Work with Identity Professional Services to onboard customers.
Partner closely with engineering, UX, and architecture leads to deliver scalable, secure and high-performing solutions.
Define clear product outcomes and KPIs, ensuring that decisions are grounded in data and measurable impact.
Drive strong collaboration across product, platform, and technology teams to ensure alignment and adoption.
Champion product excellence, process improvement, and effective use of agile practices.
Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, clearly communicating product vision, priorities, and trade-offs.
Foster a high-performing, motivated team culture that values autonomy, accountability, and continuous learning.
Requirements:
Significant experience in product management, including leading complex, cross-functional product portfolios.
Strong track record of delivering high-impact, platform or identity-related products at scale.
Skilled in setting strategy while remaining close to the detail of delivery.
Data-driven, customer-focused, and commercially aware.
Confident communicator and collaborator, comfortable influencing across a large, global organisation.
Proven experience developing and coaching product managers to achieve their potential.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, or similar) preferred. An MBA or management qualification is an advantage but not essential.
